Sustainability Reporting
Our annual Sustainability Report provides detailed updates on our strategy, priority topics, and progress toward our objectives.
Protecting the planet’s most precious resource is reflected in how we treat, manage, and deliver water every day. We are committed to investing in the long-term sustainability and resilience of our water supply and infrastructure.
Climate change exerts pressure on natural resources, including the water we depend on. We manage the impact of climate change on our water system and our business by focusing on three imperatives: affordability of our water service, climate change mitigation, and resilient adaptation.
Improving energy efficiency and pursuing renewable and lower-carbon energy sources are essential to reducing our GHG emissions. We invest in operational efficiency improvements and procure renewable energy to help reduce our emissions. In 2025, we invested over $7 million in emissions-reducing energy solutions, contributing to a 26.7% reduction in GHG emissions from our 2021 base year.
California Water Service Group aims to deliver a reliable water supply to customers by protecting existing water sources, adjusting sourcing strategies to support long-term availability, and exploring alternative water sources. We delivered nearly 2.6 billion gallons of recycled water to customers in 2025.
We aim to maintain reliable infrastructure through ongoing investments and efficiency efforts to deliver high-quality water and wastewater services to our customers. In 2025, we replaced nearly 30 miles of water main.
Water is an essential resource, and we believe conservation is critical for preserving supply for future generations. California Water Service Group promotes responsible use by our customers through educational initiatives and incentives. In 2025, we invested more than $3.4 million to encourage water savings through water conservation rebates and programs. We estimate the investment will result in 100+ million gallons of water saved annually.
We are committed to complying with all applicable environmental quality regulations. We manage environmental risks by regularly collaborating with consultants, conducting assessments, and performing audits. We also strive to be responsible environmental stewards by protecting local watersheds and ecosystems, sourcing sustainably, and managing waste.
