Cal Water Completes Goshen Water Infrastructure Upgrade to Strengthen Reliability and Fire Protection
VISALIA, Calif.—California Water Service (Cal Water) has completed a major water infrastructure upgrade in Goshen, part of its Visalia District, enhancing water system reliability and improving fire protection for customers and first responders.
The completed project included the installation of approximately 4,500 feet of new 12-inch and 8-inch water main and six new fire hydrants throughout the Goshen community. The improvements are part of Cal Water's ongoing commitment to maintaining and upgrading critical water infrastructure to continue providing safe, clean, and reliable drinking water.
"Proactively replacing aging water main enables us to continue delivering a reliable supply of safe, clean water to the community and local first responders before that infrastructure becomes unreliable," said Stuart Skoglund, Visalia District Manager. "We've proudly served our customers for a century, and infrastructure upgrades like this one allow us to continue providing quality, service, and value both now and for future generations, as we look to the next 100 years."
The Goshen project is one of several recent investments in the Visalia District. Earlier this year, Cal Water completed the installation of 2,300 feet of new 8-inch and 6-inch water main in north Visalia. Together, these projects represent approximately 6,800 feet of upgraded water infrastructure designed to strengthen the local water system for residential customers and businesses throughout the service area.
Infrastructure investments like these help reduce the likelihood of future water main breaks and service interruptions while improving water flow and fire protection capabilities. By proactively replacing and upgrading aging infrastructure, Cal Water continues to support the long-term reliability and resiliency of the water system.
The project is part of Cal Water's ongoing commitment to responsibly invest in and maintain critical water infrastructure that benefits customers and communities for generations to come.
