California Water Service Begins Visalia Water Infrastructure Upgrade to Improve System Reliability and Fire Protection

VISALIA, Calif.—California Water Service (Cal Water) has begun a water infrastructure upgrade this month to strengthen water system reliability and fire protection for customers and the community.

As part of the project, crews will install approximately 2,100 feet of new eight-inch water main and 400 feet of new six-inch water main. Installation will take place on Garden Street, Oak Avenue, School Avenue, Center Avenue, Main Street, and Murray Avenue in downtown Visalia. The project is expected to be completed in December.

"For 100 years, our customers have counted on us to provide safe, reliable water service, and investments like this help us continue that commitment," said Stuart Skoglund, Visalia District Manager. "Upgrading our infrastructure today strengthens reliability and fire protection, while preparing our water system to serve the community well into the future."

Crews will work Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The project is part of Cal Water's ongoing commitment to responsibly invest in and maintain critical water infrastructure. Proactive improvements such as this help reduce the potential for future leaks and service interruptions, enhance fire protection, and support the continued delivery of safe, clean, reliable drinking water to the community.
