Cal Water Named Business of the Year by Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce

STOCKTON, Calif.— For the utility’s ongoing commitment to providing safe, reliable water and supporting the communities it serves, the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce has named California Water Service (Cal Water) Business of the Year—honoring the company in its 100th year. The award, presented during the Chamber’s 2026 Business Awards and Installation Dinner last week, recognized Cal Water for demonstrating excellence in leadership, innovation, and community impact.

“We appreciate the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce for this recognition, particularly as it reflects the dedication of our local team members who work every day to serve our Stockton customers, take care of the water system, keep the water safe and reliable, and strengthen the communities we have been proud to be part of,” said Craig Stevens, Cal Water’s Stockton District Manager.

Cal Water, which began serving Stockton in 1927, has worked to enhance the quality of life for its local customers and communities for generations, with a sharp focus on quality, service, and value. Today, it is one of two water providers in the area, serving about 180,000 people. Its 56 local employees work to maintain nearly 525 miles of main, 24 wells, 8.8 million gallons of storage, and more than 3,055 hydrants to keep water safe, clean, and reliable in Stockton.

The Chamber’s Business of the Year honor underscores the company’s role as both an essential service provider and an engaged community partner, said Timm Quinn, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce.

“Cal Water has demonstrated what it means to be a true community partner—delivering an essential service with reliability and professionalism while investing in the people, infrastructure, and partnerships that help Stockton thrive,” Quinn said.

In addition to its investment in local infrastructure—pipes, pumps, tanks, and more, Cal Water also gives back to the community through education scholarships; grants to local firefighters, most recently in 2025 to Stockton Fire Department; and community organizations such as the Emergency Food Bank, Animal Protection League, and Saint Mary’s Dining Room.
