California Water Service Begins Redondo Beach Water Infrastructure Upgrade to Improve Water Supply Reliability and Fire Protection

TORRANCE, Calif.—California Water Service (Cal Water) has begun a water infrastructure upgrade to enhance water supply reliability and fire protection in southeast Redondo Beach. Crews are installing 1,800 feet of new water main to help strengthen the water system for residential customers and businesses in the area. The infrastructure upgrade is expected to be completed by August.

“We’ve proudly served our customers for a century, and infrastructure upgrades like this one enable us to continue providing quality, service, and value—both now and for future generations. These projects improve the reliability of our water systems, so that we can provide water to our customers’ homes any time of day or year,” said Ralph Felix, Cal Water’s Rancho Dominguez District Manager.

The district serves Carson, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and portions of Compton, Harbor City, Long Beach, Lomita, and Torrance. “Our customers can count on having safe and clean water for their everyday use and emergency needs,” Felix added.

Crews will be working on:

  • South Helberta Avenue, from the 1300 block to the 1200 block
  • South Helberta Avenue, from Avenue D to Palos Verdes Boulevard
