California Water Service To Begin a Water Infrastructure Upgrade To Improve Water Supply Reliability And Fire Protection In San Carlos
SAN CARLOS, Calif.—California Water Service (Cal Water) is breaking ground on a water infrastructure upgrade next week to enhance water supply reliability and fire protection in San Carlos. Cal Water crews will install 300 feet of new water main in the west side of the city to help deliver water to customers in the area known for its different elevations.
"Installing new main in this area is vital because it helps improve the efficiency of water flow. It's a proactive approach that will help us continue to keep our water systems updated and equipped to serve our customers," said Ross Moilan, Bayshore District Manager. "Our crews are continually working hard so we can keep meeting the everyday and emergency needs of our San Carlos customers."
Once complete, the new main will improve the distribution grid strength, flow, and reliability. The infrastructure upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of February. Work will take place just west of Eaton Park, between Crestview Drive and Brittan Avenue, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Customers will be notified of any temporary traffic impacts that may occur during the work period.
This is just one of Cal Water's efforts to continually modernize and upgrade its water system so that it can provide safe, clean, and reliable water for its customers, Moilan said.
