California Water Service and Its Employees Make Donation to Red Cross Fire Relief Fund to Assist Fire Recovery Efforts

SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/07/15 -- Today, California Water Service (Cal Water), the largest subsidiary of California Water Service Group (NYSE: CWT), and its employees donated $11,000 to the American Red Cross Fire Relief Fund after wildfires destroyed and threatened thousands of homes and businesses in northern California.

Cal Water employees personally contributed more than $5,000, with the company matching their gift, to help those affected rebuild. Company donations do not come from water rates, but from the company's shareholders as part of its annual gifting program used for philanthropic purposes.

"Cal Water has a long-standing commitment to doing the right thing when disaster strikes in the communities we serve," said Martin A. Kropelnicki, Cal Water President and CEO. "One of these fires, the Valley Fire, hit close to home, affecting our Redwood Valley District employees as well," he said.

"I am so proud to work for a company where the employees and shareholders generously open their pocketbooks to help our neighbors in their moments of need. I encourage other individuals and businesses in the community to lend their support to the Fire Relief Fund, too," said Redwood Valley District Manager Gay Guidotti.

Cal Water serves about 2 million people through 478,000 service connections in California. The company has provided water service in the state since 1926. Additional information may be obtained online at www.calwater.com.
