California Water Service Begins Water Infrastructure Upgrade to Improve Water Supply Reliability and Fire Protection In King City
KING CITY, Calif.—California Water Service (Cal Water) began work today, Wednesday, Sept. 25, on a new water infrastructure upgrade that will improve water supply reliability for residents and businesses in northeast King City. Cal Water crews are installing a new 500-gallon pressure tank that will protect the system from pressure surges and reduce the potential for leaks in the distribution system.
“Infrastructure improvements like this help Cal Water maintain a reliable water supply for both everyday and emergency needs and enable us to keep providing quality, service, and value to our customers,” said Patrick Garcia, Interim King City Operations Manager.
The new pressure tank is an addition to an existing water storage tank and booster pump at a station located east of Mesa Del Rey Airport. Installation will take place over the next three months near the intersection of Bitterwater Road and Industrial Way. Work will be performed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.. The tank is expected to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
