From 1999 to 2005, he was president and CEO of Tuition Plan Consortium and from 1990 to 1999, he was president and CEO of Talbot Financial Services. He is also a former trustee of Stanford University and former regent of the University of New Mexico. Previously, he spent 28 years in commercial banking, most of it at Wells Fargo Bank.
